Default Need help identifying these pistons!!

I recently bought a 84mm b18 block and it came with rods and pistons, nothing was put togeather it was all loose, well the guy who sold it to me said that the pistons were for all-motor, high comp. well i dont know much about pistons so i asked him, and he asured me that they were high comp all motor pistons. let me know what you think, here are some pix i took.

Wait, so what do you need to know? They're 84mm high comp JE pistons. Do you want to know the exact compression? You can tell by looking at them that they're high comp (i.e. raised dish area).

i all ways thought that all high comp pistons basically looked the same, you know the raised dome, and it would be nice to know that exact compression of them.

9 to 10.5 isnt low compression, thats high compression.

Low compression would be from 6-8.5 or so.

Not on a Honda it ain't. Low compression is almost universally 8.5 - 9. Most people don't go as low as 8 and 9.5 is kind of high for decent boost levels.

Seeing as the motor is a B18 (I'm assuming it's a C1), JE considers high compression for that motor to be between 11.5:1 and 12.4:1.

Call JE and give them that number that's stamped on the underside. I've done that before. They can identify the pistons for you.

they look like low compession pistons to me.......probably aound 9:1 since JE only sells them off the shelf in 9:1, 10.5:1, 11.5:1 and 12.5:1 without going to custom orders.

Those are dished pistons, they are not high-compression all-motor pistons. You can see the raised quench area on the edge of the piston crown--and you can see the "dish" in the center. Probably around 9-9.5:1. It appears they would give even less compression than a flat top piston.

Do you have more pics? It's kind of hard to tell - I just looked at the first pic and it looks like a flat top. But in the second pic, they look dished...

Um, the engine code is stamped right in that picture (B18B1) so you don't have to assume it's a C1 cause it's not.

those don't look THAT raised. Sorry, but can you take a pic DIRECTLY from the side so we can see how much, if any, the center is raised?
