ok my friend an me just got back from lookin at this motor for him , the guy said it was gsr motor the block said b18c but it didnt have the gsr intake manifold it looked to be a b16a manifold , now i remeber there are things we can look for to figure out exaxtly what motor this is , if you please tell me how to identify what head what block an what tranny cuz im thinkin that we stumbled upon a type r motor or a gsr motor with a b16a head ,

if the block says b18c its a gsr motor. Check on the stamps on the head and see what it says.

the code should say b18c5

 

first off its not gonna b18c5 cuz its a jap spec motor gsr motors an type r motors both say bv18c on the engine code , you gotta look at the other codes, my questions is the head said pr3-4 on it what head is that

that would be a ITR motor....GSR's are p72

 

so we found a type r motor
