NEED HELP WITH A HEAD SWAP
I need help on a head swap.....head/intake manifold is from a 99 SI.....car is a 97 GSR.....what do i need to do to have the head running without any CEL....are thereand sensor swaps i will need to do?...thanks for any replies
You'll be fine, and the only thing that is a little different will be the wiring harness... IAB's don't have a CEL so you don't need to worry about that... As I said it's just little things about how the GSR harness is routed as apose to the 1999-2000 Si PR3 cylinder head... Everything is plug and play besides the intake air temperature sensor (IAT)... The GSR IN manifold has a plenum mounted IAT where as the 1999-2000 Si has theirs mounted in the intake tube... You have a few options here and it's really not that big of a deal... #1, tap the IN manifold in the factory runner location and run the GSR's IAT... #2, pull it out of the GSR IN manifold plug it in and leave it... #3, get ahold of a DOHC VTEC Del Sol IN manifold... Lastly, take an IAT and connector off of a 1999-2000 Si, cut the stock GSR round style connector off and solder on the new one (porarity doesn't matter here), and plug it into your intake tube just how it is on the Si's... Just my $0.02 and I hope this helps... Peace
EDIT: Just for your information, since it doesn't throw a CEL you don't have to worry about it but the IAB's can't go in any other IN manifold then that of the H22 and B18C1...
