Default Need help from engine builders.

Hey guys,
I don't want to get elaborate on my set up so I'll just go straight to the problem!
I finally completed my rebuilt with new bearings, seals, piston rings, gaskets(including head gasket), resurfaced head and block so everything should work fine. Well I tried starting my car for the very first time tonight and gave it a couple of cranks. The motor would almost start and then die(I'm thinking this is normal on a newly built motor). Well after the few attempts to start it, alot of oil started leaking out the head gasket on corner under the vtec solenoid. Don't know what happened? I torque the head bolts using the two step process with a brand new Craftsman torque wrench so I don't think that was the problem. I pulled my spark plugs out to check my pistons and no oil in there. If someone has any suggestions, please suggest. Thanks.

I'm too pissed off right now to work on my car. I'm taking of the head off to double check. Any best practices on the process of starting a newly built motor?

Are you sure theres not just oil leaking out from the cam seal under the vtec sel. Sometimes you cant see the drip, but those are prone to leak, esp. if you didnt use honda bond in the corners. Also if you milled the head down, make sure you cut the dowls down as well. Maybe ones catching on something and holding the head up a little.....Mike

Thanks guys for the suggestions. Here's a little more on my engine set-up.
First of all I have 92 GS-R that had 170,000 miles on it. It ran pretty good, 15.3 till the day I took it apart. I decided to tear the whole motor apart and rebuild myself. To make it easier I'll just list the things I have.
1.PP'ed Type R head and reworked combustion chamber
2.Type R valves and valvetrain with Portflow inner springs and Crower Ti retainers.
3.Crower 63401 and 63403 cams and adjustable cam gears
4.Port matched Type R intake manifold, 64mm tb and 3in custom ceramic coated cold air intake (same as aem except for bigger piping and filter)
5.Magnecore wires, JDM NGK BKR7E-N-11 plugs and Optima battery
6.97-up Prelude 290CC injectors, B&M regulator and gauge
7.Civic Type R pistons .25 with piston tops Polydyn ceramic coated
8.Balanced bottom end with micropolished crank, ARP rod bolts, all new bearings, seals, gaskets, head bolts, Spoon oil pump, water pump, 15lb Type R flywheel
9.JDM DC 4-1 header, 2.5in Carsound cat and SS RSR exhaust
10.Spoon radiator cap, thermostat and thermo switch
Here are a few pics.
