Need help cleaning HID bulbs

i just installed my HID's and the light is all scattered. i think my bulbs may be dirty. is there a way i can clean it w/o messing the bulb up? i heard using rubbing alcohol?

use mineral spirits and a lint-free, CLEAN rag. Rubbing alcohol works too.
