need help b18a1
ok guys so im new here, i hope im putting this in the right section. anyway, i bought my first honda\acura, a 91 acura integra with the B18A1 engine about a year ago, i put a short ram intake and full exhaust with test pipe when i got it. It ran fine for over a year but im now running into some issues. i drive it from pittsburgh to scranton (About 5 hours 350 miles) every other weekend which it normally does with no problems. Last friday i was beating on it pretty good racing a monte ss and when i pulled in my driveway 15 minutes later it was idleing different and sounded like a subaru. that next day i changed the oil and plugs(castrol high mileage with a can of restore, NGK V-Power as always). i thought that i might have fouled a plug while racing because i burn some oil (2 quarts every 3k). That didnt help anything so i pulled the valve cover and looked to see if i noticed anything that looked broke or out of place, there wasnt so i put a new gasket on and put it all back together. today i had to come back to school so i drove it the 350 miles to scranton, it drove fine but sounded like a subaru and smelled pretty bad, like unburned fuel and oil. my plugs normally have a slight rust color to them which i was told meant it was runnng lean and burning oil. the valves always ticked a little but now a few of them are really loud, i checked the oil and its at a good level still but im having a hard time figuring out whats wrong. also the cap and rotor are 2 months old. if anyone has any ideas what might be the problem id love to hear them. sorry for writing a small book too i just wanted everyone to know the situatation surrounding my problem
ok thanks man, ill do that tomorrow. I checked the cap and rotor and replaced my plug wires. i have good spark and it seemed like fuel wasnt the issue.
