>>>>>NEED HELP ASAP! Ignitor/Starter/Distributor/Fuse?!?!

I was cruising at a steady pace of 45mph then all of a sudden, my tach drops from about 3000-4000rpm to 0! And I rolled to a stop.
About 45 minutes before, I replaced my distributor cap and rotor. And slightly degreased the area in and around the header, scrubbed it with a toothbrush, and got some water to rinse it off. Did I accidentally wet and short something out?
When I pulled over, I tried starting the car again. It would turn over and over but it just woudnt start. All of a sudden, white smoke starts coming out of the intake. I thought the reason for the white smoke is the gas being fed without a spark. The white smoke never happened again.
I checked the cap and rotor and it seems fine. The spark plugs are fine because I changed them a two days ago w/ Denso Iridiums. I have NGK Spark plug wires.
The car wont start but it will keep turning. White smoke doesnt come out of the intake anymore. Also, when I pulled the spark plug out, it was wet and smelled like gasoline.
It's not getting any spark. I thought it was my distributor or module so I went to a friend's shop and he gave me an H22 distributor off of one of the front clips. I tested it out and my car still wont start. So I marked "distributor" off of the "maybe fucked up" list. And continued with my troubleshooting.
I am in desperate need. I **NEED** my car to run. I dont have any other cars. Anyone know whats wrong? I thought it might be the starter or ignitor. Please list step by step things to do.
The main thing to think about if you didnt feel like reading this whole post was:
I was driving at 40mph 3000-4000rpm and BAM! my RPM's drop to 0 (ZERO). WTF?
Thanks to anyone that helps or at least attempts to!

just wanted to add this to get people to look inside this post

ok here's my opinion find a friend with an h22 and try his distributor or oen that you absolutley know works if that doesnt fix it then make sure you are getting spark pull a wire off and use a spark plug tester or just lay it close to the chassis if you don't have one (not recommended) , it soudns liek your not getting spark, on the side of your distributor or near it there should be a rectangle type connector check if you are getting voltage there while the car is cranking. from there thats my only guess good luck try noth wires but i think blue is positive

Gotta be ignition since its not getting any spark. You tried a distributor from a front clip? How do you know it was good?
Since you've eliminated(?) the distributor itself, its time to check the wiring harness from ECU to distributor. Probably a PITA, but good luck!

are you getting fuel to the motor, if you got spark, it could be a fuel problem
if you are getting fuel try the ECU fuse. its on the pass. fenderwell under the hood.

well if i would read the post more carefully i would know that you don't have spark...well try this...the wire that comes from the coil to the dist., pull it off the dist. and check for spark. my lude did the same thing and it was a bad coil.

i tested it out and found out there's no current running to the distributor.. what would be causing this? the 50A fuse is fine for the ignition switch. what else should i look for?
its prolly the coil, the thing that the wire to the dist. plugs into. mine did the exact same thing. i think its like a $50 part. this should fix you right up. i am not sure if autozone or another auto parts store will test your oldone before you buy or not. i am pretty sure this is the problem. if you don't mind lemme know if that fixes it.
