my friends SOHC eg is acting up. it cranks over without problem, but it wont start. my brother was fooling arounf and managed to disconnect the fuel return line, and gas is spraying all over everytime its cranked. also the distributor was somewhat loose, but i believe i took car of that. the car wants to start, but it wont. any suggestion, advice will be appreciated. need help ASAP

 

im pretty sure you need 3 things to start a motor. fuel, compression, and spark. it sounds like you have fuel. make sure all fuel lines are connected and check for spark. the dizzy was loose? check the timing. timing is everything. make sure you have the right firing order, and check spark plugs. just my 0.02 good luck!

 

^ha, you name 3 things but say that timing is everything...wouldnt that make it 4 things.

anywho, check the fuel. the return line is pretty important..

4 things: Induction, compression, fuel and spark.

 

not to metion ..... a good ground. been there done that
