Default need a better top end

I currently am running a b16a2 with a t3/t4 turbo in a eg cx hb and so on (want to know the rest then ask) i belive the tranny is out of a del sol or what ever tranny would normally come with a b16 swap(bought the car with the engine in it no turbo) anyways i want to get a higher top speed I've currently had my car to roughly 140mph but it takes a lil while because i shift 4th-5th at exactly 100mph my buddy running a similer set up can hit 120 in 4th and smoke my 57mph in second with his 65mph. mine is usdm and stops at 7600 rpm and his jdm stops at 8200rpm he is also running the gsr tranny could this be the answer I also wanted to find out more about ls trannys i heard they are better for top end because of the gearing and they are easier and cheaper to come by will everything bolt up?
I want more top end, but the main purpose for my car is drag I have not really ran it yet for an et but my buddy ran a 13.7 at 103 and since my car is lighter I think i can better that except for the fact that i'd be going into fifth at 100mph which doesn't pull that hard.
feed back appreciated

If your main goal is drag racing, you can just extend the gearing with a taller slick. Unless of course you are dead set on running the current tire during your runs, which is going to heavily limit your times anyway. The shorter gears might require an upshift earlier, but they also have the car accelerating harder at any given speed vs. taller gearing.

Just use an LS tranny, it has much longer gearing

I wouldn't use a straight LS tranny unless you are making lots and lots of power..... My friends daily driven EK puts 505hp to the ground and a straigh LS tranny is too long for him... Right now he's got a hybrid LS in it and it seems cool... Those long gears are just gonna slow you down... I would do exactly what Texan stated

that seems to make a lot of sense about the ls tranny being that im no where near 505hp more like 230 hp est. what about a type r final drive or a gsr tranny?

Yea a GSR is your best bet... I wouldn't even worry about the final drive.. If you are boostin you don't want to short of gears cuz there wont be enough load on your motor to get full boost till maybe the end of the track... It's up to you but i would think a straight GSR with Quaife LSD would be cool... Latez

This is kinda refreshing.. Normally, people with Honda's want more bottom end... Props to you.. You got the bottom end taken care of it seems..

im only running .35 bar or 4 1/2lbs right now because of my side mount intercooler that sits inside the engine bay not to efficient and i know this, but something is better than nothing. I just ordered my fmic from a guy that custom makes them tjn115 you can see them on ebay mine is huge its core dimensions 30'' long 6 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" thick then i'll crank the boost up to 6psi and once i get a higher flowing fuel pump and adj. reg. probaly 7psi my goal is to get it around 9-10psi daily driven, but i belive my top end is mainly related to gearing and tranny issues at this point
