Need advice on b18c5 build.....
I have a 98 USDM ITR shortblock, one rod was slightly bent due to hydrolocking and the cylinder wall was scratched. I am contemplating either running a stock b18b shortblock LS/vtec or boring the c5 out to 2.0L (boring because of cylinder wall damage) and running 11:1 ish compression. I am having trouble finding an LS shortblock in my area and selling my C5 shortblock. I am between the two because I would probably have to buy and ship a complete b18b longblock, pull the head and not be able to sell it, and have to worry about how the engine was maintained and not to mention stress from high revving- I know its a long drawn out story on the topic...
All I really want to know is a ballpark idea of how much it would cost to bore to 84mm mainly, and some heads up on decent rod/piston deals that are out there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure how much room there is and how strong the cylinders will be after boring but I dont think boring is all that much.. If your looking for a low budget setup why not get some je pistons and eagle rods..
TO SLEEVE THE BLOCK IT WILL RUN YOU ABOUT $ 850 FOR RS FULLY MACHINED I SELL AND USE ARIAS PISTONS AND EAGLE RODS... ALL THE PISTONS I SELL ARE RADIUS DETAILED AS WELL .. SO YOUR LOOKING AT ABOUT $1660

I would just use the standard bore but the cylinder wall has some damage

Ohh.. I would look into sleeving then, when you bore that big your going to make the cylinder walls paper thin..
What area of Baltimore are you from?
