My sol is smoking
I drive a del sol with a d15b7. I have a little white smoke when I start my car. Also, sometimes when I floor it in first there is a little smoke, but only for a second. A little while ago I dropped into third on the highway and saw smoke all the way through that gear. Also, today I left my car idling for about 15 minutes in 100 degree weather while I talked to someone. I noticed a tiny bit of smoke and I went to my car. The temp gauge was all the way up. I shut off the car and let it sit for a few minutes and it was fine. I'm sure the smoke at startup is bad valve seals. And the smoke while it was idling was probably from overheating. The engine in my car was replaced with a supposed 60k mile engine. Should the valve seals be shot at 60k miles? Can anyone decode my smoking engines messages?
If a car with a blown headgaskets sits, it can fill the cylinder with water. That can cause smoke on startup. Valve seals can also smoke on startup but they also leak furing high engine vaccum like decel. Does it smoke on deceleration?
You need to determine oil or water. I think water. Check for intermix.

typical D15 blown headgasket.
A little inside secret to make the D15 headgaskets last..........
check the torque on the head bolts when you do a valve lash adjustment.
No need to break them loose, just use a torque wrench set at 47-50 ft/lbs.
You'll find 1-2 that have stretched a tiny bit every 15-20k miles.
