if you're trying to balance the clutch and the gas when you're going up a hill then you need to re-learn how to drive a standard. if you do this often enough then it will surely wear out your clutch in no time.
you should only use the clutch when you're going from a dead stop, of if you are shifting gears. if you need more power on a hill then you must downshift

Just come to a complete stop then use the clutch when the light goes green whatever. Sitting there slipping the clutch on purpose will ruin a clutch and fast.

No No No,when I am at a dead stop on a hill, you would have to balance the clutch out with gas in order not to roll back. ya digg. but I think already got my answer from FCM thanks FCM for that answer.

No No No, you do not "balance the clutch" to keep from rolling back on a hill, you use the brake for that, [hand brake if you have to] to go from a dead stop on a hill in a standard is a bit of a trick and will take some learning, slipping the clutch on purpose is not the way, as mentioned it will quickly destroy the clutch. 94

yeah you need to be a little more clear, are you sitting at the light the whole time slipping the clutch or are you talking about after sitting there with your foot on the brake you go to take off and the amount you are slipping the clutch is causing it to burn? if so what rpms are you leaving the light at while you are 'balancing' the clutch and the gas?
