my car wont start!
i got an 85 civic sedan. one night i started the car and it was hella loud like a diesel motor. drove home fine and the car felt okay. no loss of power or anything. the next morning i turned on the car to warm it up. same dieseling sound coming from the left side of the block. after 2 minutes of warming up the motor juss dies. i tried starting it again but it seems like only the starter was spinning but i wasnt cranking anything. what do you think is wrong?! i already replaced the starter so it isnt that. any help would be great. thanks guys
Check to see if flywheel is shattered. Remove flywheel cover on bottom or remove starter and look in hole. If it's not flywheel, then maybe timing belt? Slipped tooth can make diesel sound.
hmm... i was thinking it might be the flywheel also but i was too lazy to check. i checked the timing belt and its fine. how hard is it to pull the flywheel out and replace it? i dont trust any of the shops around here plus i dont wanna blow my money on the labor. thanks for your input man.
