Default flywheel help!!!

i got a 96 ex with a b16 swap i put in..about a month ago i drove my car and everything was fine and then i shut it off and went to start it back up and got a horrible grinding noise....first thing i thought of was the starter was bad..the car wouldnt start, but i was able to pop start it if i had to get around..well today i took the starter off to check it out and inspect the flywheel and noticed i could turn the flywheel easily by hand and it made a grinding noise..great..my question is shouldn't the flywheel be held in place and bolted to the crank and not spin? does anyone kno if the flywheel would be broke? or what else it could be? any info would be great!

if you had the starter off you wouldnt have starter issues if grinding noise can be heard with the starter off. sound more like you have clutch issues if you have the starter off and youre turning it by hand and hearing grinding noises

thanks..yea the flywheel just spins like soo easily, like its not attached to anything...weird thing is the car wouldnt start cold and just grind like it always does..but if i drove it around for a while and shut it off and try to re start it sometimes i would get lucky...going to get the tranny off tomorrow and take a peep
