i don't know what happened. my car was working fine earlier today and my dad moved it and it worked just fine. then i get in the car to go get some smokes and the car won't engage into gear. i have a 91 integra with a cable tranny. is there some way to adjust the tranny? or is it that my cutch is gone???.....any help with this would be greatly appreciated.....thanks

 

sounds like a clutch went

 

try loosing the cable and see if it will engage.

 

ok i checked my tranny and i think i broke the pressure plate because the car will engage into gear when the car is off. but whenb i turn the car on it won't go into any gear unless i force it into reverse. and even when i do that it grinds and then it feels like the tranny drops. then it's in reverse. so frankly i don't know what to do. do i just replace the clutch and pressure plate or should i just get a new tranny? any advice with this will be greatly appreciated.

 

dont put the tranny in geare ANYMORE!!

Buy a clutch setup (consistring of a presure palte and clutch disc)

Ur tranny will need an oil change

 

ok so i bought a jdm xtd stage 3 clutch kit. i'm just waiting for it to arrive. i'll be putting it in within the next week. my friend said that it might still be the tranny tho. so should i start looking for a tranny now or should i just wait til i put in the clutch?

 

wait until you take the transmission out i bet the clutch disk is completly gone or the dampner springs are flopping in the pressure plate.

 

It's your clutch. If it was your transmission it wouldn't matter if your car was running or not, it would not affect the way it shifts. If you can only shift it into gear when the car is off, it means the clutch is faulty.

 

yes it was the clutch. thank god. so now it's running fine except i gotta push start everywhere cause my starter is cracked. quick question tho. will the zc tranny fit the Ls??

 

no, u needa B series tranny.

just get another LS trans.

 

no it's not fer me. a friend asked me the question and i didn't know cause i heard some b series parts and zc parts are interchangable. i just didn't know which ones.
