I check my radiator, but theres no leak. The water resavoir is filled with brownish water. Is a bad thermostat be causing this?

And...
It's possible for the radiator to be empty but the overflow bottle is full.

Rusty water? That's not good...

The brownish water could be the biodegradeable antifreeze it turns brownish if you don't change it ever 3-5yrs because it is degrading in you radiator....this can cause the radiator to clogup and cuase the car to run hot. I would flush the radiator and change the thermostat then see what happens.

man yeah, flush your rad. and refill... but usually

brownish color = oil+coolant = blown headgasket.
