Default Are my cams ok?

Alright, i just got my Spec Bs today. The cams look like they are in mint condition, except on the exhaust cam on one of the primary lobes, at the very very edge of it, there is a tiny tiny (and i mean very small) chip on the edge.

These cams were pulled out today out of a civic at Import Builders (which is also the place i went to pick them up). They made 15 runs on the civic on a dyno and made 196 hp to the wheels and the cams were also ran in the same civic the previous week (brand new cams almost).

When i rub my finger over it, it feels as normal as any of the other lobes. When i rub hard against it i can feel a tiny rubbing on that very small chip against my skin. When i inspected it at the shop i couldn't see it because it was covered with oil. When i came home to wipe off the stuff i noticed it. I'm hoping that this is too small of anything to be worried about? What do you guys think? Please help me out, i am going to be installing these cams this friday.

Thanks, thats a somewhat sign of relief for me. I'm just paranoid that the cams would snap or some crap ya know? I've never heard of toda cams snapping though, i have seen/heard stories of jun cams snapping though.

bah dont worry about it
if it was a stress mark im pretty sure it wouldnt be a chip that small
a chip is more like an acute injury (you medical guys will understand. acute is like a sudden blow, like a rock hitting the windshield)
if you can, keep an eye on it over time.

ya....just like a chip in a window. Ohh ya about chips on the windows....I had one and it made a nice long line up and down the whole windsheil....and across.....now there are more than 1 in all directions.

I meant the a stress crack can result from this chip. Maybe?
