on my bro's RX-7...
you kno how the RX-7 is an awesome car along with twin turbo right? his turbos are stock and he wants to get Bigger turbos... any suggetions? me and my bro are like beginners to this car world... btw i drive a stock 97 Integra GS-R... and ca you fit the RX-7 turbos in the integra? lol. just asking..
I have heard that one of the most important things to do to an RX-7 is to upgrade the cooling system (bigger radiator) because those things have problems with overheating even in stock form, and especially the turbo charged versions. Also, before you turn off the car, always let it sit and idle for about 30 sec to a min to let the oil cycle through and cool down a bit more, that way you don't burn it excessively in the turbo. This is especially true after running the car hard. One more thing is that I have heard that it is a *very* bad idea to run synthetic oil in RX-7's. There are some brands that will work, but I think it would be best just to steer clear. This is all taken from research I did when I was planning on buying a 1989 turbo II, so I truthfully have no experience with any of this. I would suggest going to an RX-7 board and asking some questions there as well. These cars are very beautiful, but also high maintenance. Good Luck!

Yes, before you do any power enhancing mods to the RX-7 you should add additional oil coolers and a hi-effeciency radiator. This is VITAL!!!
If a rotary overheats, the apex seals (the wankel equivalent of piston rings) will fail. Bye-bye compression and hello Peter Farrell (assuming you have $3k+ to rebuild the engine).
Also, upgrading the turbos requries an ECU change. There are several options, but I forget all the specs. I drive a 1982 (pre-turbo) RX-7, so all I can give is general wankel knowledge, but nothing TT specific.

look into getting the single-turbo conversion, uses one monster turbo instead of two. it'll make more power, and will be a lot more reliable (or so i've heard).

Yea, you don't want to use synthetic on them because the rotarys actually burn a little oil during the combustion process. this is why some rotary people add oil to the gas when filling up, and why if you don't change the oil like your supposed to, they blow up.

actually you can use synthetic, i mean i wouldnt but thier is some peeps that do it. i guess ive heard its good to clean out the gunk reg oil deposits but thats about it.
