Mufflers size affect sound?
With straight through N1 style mufflers, would it be reasonable to say the bigger the barrel, the quieter it will be and the smaller it is the louder?
Because a big muffler contains more fiberglass/steel wool paking to muffle the sound. Sounds right?

umm, sounds like a good theory, but it also depends on the material used and construction of the porforated tunnel.
I would think that the muffler size has more of a effect on the tone/pitch

Because recently I got a N1 style stainless steel muffler with 3" tip and 4" barrel size. My exhaust system is 2.5" mandrel bent with a very large resonator in the middle and a test pipe. The car is EXTREMELY loud, my ears ring after a 20 minute drive. Im going to install another resonator in the system but I was wondering if ditching the small rear muffler and adding a larger barrel muffler quieten it down a bit.
get a oval type muffler, any n1 style is going to be loud. I actually have a extra 2.5" magnaflow oval muffler for sale, bought it and never used. If you want it, hit me up.
