Default motor sputtering when i floor it!

when i drive normal it wont sputter...but when i floor it it begins to sputter for like 500 or so RPMs then the sputtering goes away and begins to accelerate like normal...is it gettin too much fuel or what? this just started happening after i installed my B&M fuel pressure gauge...theres no gas leaking from it so i think i installed it right

When did you change your fuel filter last? That could be it. Unless you got a leak somwhere I don't see how putting a gauge on would make your car act up.

Check your plugs too, Mine did that when one of my plugs began to foul out.

i found out what it was....the flange between my header and piping was loose...it eventually completely disconnect when i was driving on the freeway...i heard clanking underneath my car and the engine started to get louder becuase i was running open header..i finally understood why it would sputter...its because theres no back pressure...these engines need some sort of back pressure. thanks for everyones help though

I installed a header along with a whole bunch of other crap recently( all at the same time). I'm having the same problem, is a exhaust leak a possibility? Have been searching for a vacum leak with no luck. stumped now.......

what would the "whole bunch of other crap" be?? if you have a small gap between the header and cat or straight pipe or whatever...yes it will cause the car to sputter..i've learned that from this experience just recently...
