Default motor mounts. ES and others.

I need new motor mounts, mine are torn to hell. In particular I need a drivers side upper one, and I need the front tranny torque mount. The others I'm not sure on but I'm guessing they aren't in the greatest shape.

I've been reading about different ones and ES seems to be the type I want. I don't want a ton of vibrations and they seem to be the "least stiff" of all the mounts available.

From what I've been reading however, the ES ones are just inserts, and you have to have good stock mounts in the first place to use them. Is that correct?

If thats the case, I don't think thats exactly what I want. If I have to buy new mounts entirely I'll just get the OEM ones and call it good. What should I expect to pay for new OEM mounts?

Any alternative mounts that aren't too harsh for the street?

It may be "ghetto" but it works:

3M window weld. May be worth a try if you're not concerned with appearance.

Or I could have misunderstood what you are talking about, perhaps you need the surrounding piece also?

bump for more input.

I was wondering, if I just get replacement OEM motor mounts on the sides and rear, and then get the jimfab front tranny torque mount how would that do vibration wise and stiffness wise?

I don't have an AC mount currently

Oh BTW, ES is an insert.

You remove the stock rubber and put the new ES bushings in place.

Are you positive that they don't just reinforce your existing rubber by filling the gaps?

I stand partially corrected:

Prevents excessive engine movement within the motor mounts during drag strip style launches, or repairs broken factory mounts by taking up the voids in the mount's rubber cavities. Made of high quality urethane. Note: Use of mount inserts may increase vibration at idle.

I conclude that the ES mounts can be used with broken rubber OEM mounts.

ES engine mounts are only for the front and rear mount. they are inserts that fill in the gaps and sandwich the original mount, no matter its condition.

feedback using these seems pretty consistent that interior vibration is hugely increased, usually too annoying. but it gets the job done i suppose.

i have found that just filling the FRONT mount with rubber fuel line pieces is completely sufficient.

no, it DOESNT fall out. the way the engine mount bracket is made, the pieces of rubber are completely kept in place.

this alone was sufficent in elminating wheel hop in my CRX. and i felt no increase in interior vibration.

more info.

That, along with the accompanying torque mount would help a lot.

I have an incomplete set of ES motor mounts I'm selling. I used the AC mount insert, only the tranny and rear inserts are left. Click my sig or send me a PM if you're interested.
