motor locked up?
ok here is the situation.... i drove into the driveway and turned my car off. came back after about 10 minutes..... car wouldnt turn over....... ok so i took it to a shop and they said the motor locked up. there was no damage but it wont turn budge. what you guys think it could be? he said there was oil in it and stuff so im stumped and se is the mechanic

I'd get a second opinion man. Or get it home and put a socket and ratchet on the crank bolt and try turning it over by hand. If they are right and you can't turn it over clockwise, try turning it counter-clockwise. If it is in fact locked, remove the spark plugs and shine a light into the holes and look for debris. If you don't see anything remove the valve cover for inspection of the valvetrain.
Did they check the timing belt? It is possible it bent a valve and is preventing the engine from turning over.

i dont really know anything about my eclipse. im a honda guy. but i can check it out. tahnk you....anyone else? anyone from so cal kow any good shops?

its my eclipse that locked up. i dont work on it. i only work on my CrX. thats y im afraid to touch it. ya kjnow? my eclipse is my daily driver. but ya im going to tow it somewhere i think and have them take the head off. any other ideas as of what could have happend

No, but if it is physically locked up they should be able to give you a good estimate of what it is that is causing it, there are not very many things it could be.

haha ya. the guy said that everything looked fine and he cheaked the pistons and they looked good so i assumed that he would notice if it got thrown off 180 degrees since he is a mechanic. well anywho i hope its cheap so i can sell it and buy a new RSX
