THE MOST ANNOYING SOUND EVER
ever since i got my '89 hf it has occasionaly made a wierd squealing sound, either when i hit a bump or turn the wheel a certian way or drive the car long distances, but it always happens when the car is moving. sometimes it will start when i take off and slowly get louder and faster as the car moves faster. just recently it started doing it alot (almost everytime i drive) and it is so annoying because i live in a city so the sound bounces off of the buildings and i feel like a dumbass riding around in a squealing car. can anyone please help?
If it happens when you turn or hit a bump, my guess would be that it's the dust shield behind one or more of the brake rotors. Sometimes this thing can get knocked out of whack either while performing maintenance on your brakes or sometimes for no reason at all. Reach behind your wheel and push the shield out from the rotor. Hopefully this will solve it. Let us know how it goes.
