Default Modifying a Fuel System

Hello Honda-Tech I own a 98 Honda Civic EX(SOHC VTEC) I want to modify the whole fuel system. That inlcludes throttle body, fuel pump, fuel rail, injectors, spark plugs, if possible I would like to get bigger cylinders for the pistons but that's not the most important. So if anyone knows who are the best companies to go through for these parts and could respond A.S.A.P. that would be helpful.

Sincerely

Well the respond ASAP thing is an hour later

What do you want to do to the car (N/A, Turbo, Nitrous, or Supercharger?)
Until you do some serious modification you don't need to upgrade the fuel system.

People have Dyno'ed 175 WHP with the stock fuel pump, filter, fuel rail. Of course this is a CRVTEC however, the fuel pump was a stock EX fuel pump.

Technical note: Your engine is a D16Y8. any D engine is a SOHC, the 16 stands for the engine size 1.6 liter and the Y8 is the type. 96-00 EX. I have a Y5 HX. and the DX and LX's have a Y7.

Okay well no problem on the hour lata thing but I plan to turbo the car later on. If my reading and I'm gonna sound scientiific now, if my hypothesis(you like that) serves me right then i can get some real hp gains out of just inicreasing the air/fuel ratio to my car other wise known as displacement using those parts I listed in the first topic I posted. After doing so I plan to bullet proof the enigne for the turbo through cams, cam gears, forged pistons and rods the whole nine yards I wanna tackle this turbo one step at a time using the best application for my car. My plan is to get 300 hp out of this stock engine I mean it is a VTEC it's just SOHC meaning it has to work a little harder. Oh yeah after making all these fuel management adjustments I plan to get the Hondata Stage 4 system which will alloow me to make further adjustments to the ECU. After all these modifications are done it can happen it just has to be done right. So e-mail me back if you think my "hypothesis" is wrong

Sincerely,
Project_SOHC_EX

Note: I hate email you cannot share your knowledge with others that way.
I am just going to respond to this tread from now on as well.

Seems like your budget is high since you want to purchase a $1,200.00 ECU.

Okay first things first. http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com get the block sleeved and bored to 76mm. Purchase some 9-1 compression pistons and go to http://www.theoldone.com and get some forged rods. While your engine block is out at golden eagle, have the crank balanced and polished.

Go to http://www.portflow.com and talk to them about your head. Get a full port and polish, new valve springs and retainers. Once that is done. Look around for an Intake manifold that is going to give you enough air flow for 300 horsepower (which BTW is going to be very hard to achieve). I suggest either Venom or Max Airr. Holley or JG/Edlebrock for your throttle body 60+mm.

Even with all these gooddies added to your car the fuel system is sufficent. And we haven't even started. This is called a build up process.

Reccomend you do more research before you start spending money my friend. No offense to you or anything. 300whp is a pretty heafty goal on the D16 though (or B16 for that matter)

While most people ignore this advice, I suggest you pick up a book called "maximum boost" by corky bell. It is a decent book, and by the time you are done reading it you will probably know more than some of your local "import tuner" shops. (at least thats how it seems around here, lol ) You will also save alot of money.....

Parts for a 200-250whp turbo 1.6L are normally different than that of parts for a 300whp turbo 1.6L......

PS: there are lots of other good books out there, that one just happens to be really popular and abundent
