Default Missing Coolant Line Into FITV On B18C???

I'm missing a coolant line on my FITV. The line is there between the FITV and IACV, but the inlet hose is missing. I'm not spilling coolant anywhere, so wherever that line originates from is plugged up somehow, so my question is this:

Where does the coolant line into the FITV come from on a GSR??

the fitv is bolted on under the throttle body the inlet is the one in the front of the throttle body above the fitv. it should be an obd1 gsr if it has a fitv.

Thanks for not reading my post.

I know where the FITV is. I know where the inlet is. And yes, it is an OBD1 GSR.

The problem is that the hose is missing going into the valve.

My question is where the hose comes from that attaches to the FITV. Can I just "T" into a nearby hose somewhere, since the original hose is gone and the original hose's source is obviously connected somewhere else??

^^^ You know, I looked at that pic last night. It just didn't click though that the inlet hose goes about 3 inches to the head/intake manifold...

Problem is that there aren't any empty spots to attach the hose from the FITV... Can I "T" into the hose that is currently in the spot the FITV should go??

^^ Understand that.

To clarify:

There is no open spot on the intake manifold where this is supposed to plug in.

The spot on the intake manifold is currently occupied by another hose.

I know that hose is not supposed to be there, but I don't want to get into tracing it back to where it's connected & fixing that problem.

Question: Can I "tee" into this hose and run the FITV off of this "tee"?

you could 'tee' into the hose. you do have one of the hoses connected right? to the iacv?
or you can leave your fitv without coolant

Yes, the hose is there between the IACV and FITV, as stated in my very first post.

The FITV is currently without coolant, hence this entire thread.

I think the fact that the FITV is without coolant is why it FITV is not functioning and causing my idle surge issue.

well you gonna have to figure out where the outlet hose is pluggedsince your fitv and iacv are without coolant.
whats your idle doing and when?
if your going to disable the fitv you have to take it apart and screw the thermoplastic thingy all the way in.

So find out where that hose goes and fix it.

Hose 13 is the inlet to the FITV and goes to one spot on the manifold and Hose 9 goes between the other spot and the thermostat housing.

Here's a diagram I saved from alooong time ago...not exactly the same though.

And a quick note...that brown coolant hose actually goes to the factory oil cooler.

I just went out to take a closer look on these hose paths, and the hose that's supposed to go into my FITV goes into the top fitting on the main radiator hose inlet on the head...

That hose is supposed to go alongside the breather tube (which I don't have) then back into the t-stat housing.

Gotta check this out...

Well, two trips to the parts store and 2 hours later, car runs perfect.

The idiots that I had drop my motor back in after the rebuild didn't bother to hook up 2 coolant lines, and hooked up 2 other ones in places they shouldn't have been...

That diagram was awesome!!! It's now affixed to the wall of my garage, just in case I need it again down the road.

I'm just glad that it was simple (sortof) and I didn't even need to remove the FITV to do the "fix"...

Thanks!!!
