Default MISC PROBLEMS!!

I'll start with the first problem i'm having..

I while back I re-wired my aux light switch on the dash so that they would come on with the low beams and high beams. Their was a full wright up on it that I followed. That worked great and I have never had a problem with it... Until I installed my EDM aux lights. What i did was just cut the sensor off the old aux lights and wired the H4 sensor up to them. I've noticed that ever since i did this, Something has been draining my battery EXTREMELY quick. Where I can only start it about 3 times before i have to jump it off again. Is it possible that the new aux lights are drawing power even when they're not on if the switch is still pressed in?

The second problem is... I noticed yesterday that my car was running hot on the way to work. It got to operating tempurature very fast, and when i came to stops at red lights, the needle would go up about 3/4 of the way, almost to HOT. I parked the car and popped the hood, i noticed while i was driving, it was fine, but once i parked, the needle climbed and the fan would kick on, but once it stopped it would climb again.

Is it possible that these 2 problems would be related? I have so far replaced my starter, gone through 2 batteries and 2 alternators, the water pump and everything was replaced before i put the new motor in about 5 months back. brand new thermostat as well.

If you can help me out with any of this, i would really appreciate it. It's really killing me not being able to have my car function correctly.

BTW: this is in a 93 Del Sol S with a JDM D15B Vtec.

I would still have the thermostat checked because it sounds like a thermostat issue and also make sure you have the proper type of coolant and the proper amount. as for your issue with your lights I cant really help much there I am horrible with electrical issues
