jdm gauge swap

jdm gauge swap, fuel gauge problem
first i have a 93 ex
i decided to get a jdm eg cluster, put it in, temp didn't work and fuel went to full even though the tank was empty. Exchanged it for one that was tested. Put it in, fuel still stays on Full. If i put the ex one back in it goes to half a tank put the jdm one back in, its full. Was there any pins different on the jdm cluster? Was there a resistor or something?
