are there any visible leaks from the master or slave cylinders? have someone press the pedal and then look for leaks as well. how is the fluid level?

i would guess the master cylinder. if you have no visible leaks. Pull the rubber boot off the slave cylinder, it could just be holding the fluid in there.

1. It goes into gear when the engine isn`t running? It just won`t go in when the engine is turned on?

2. Check the clutch slave cylinder, have someone press the clutch pedal down and you can inspect what`s going on there. It`s already been said, but pulling the boot off helps as well. You can see everything easier.

all honda's(manual) and i believe all 5/6 speed cars go into gear when their off unless the linkage is messed up but in this case your cars linkage isn't cause obviously yours go into gear while its off... i would check that slave cylinder 1st usually it does build fluid in there... i just recently had a " 97 honda accord 5speed " come into the shop and he was having the same problem as you were... no leaks was appearing anywhere but after putting some clutch fluid in and bleed'n his clutch line man the slave cylinder was bad... this crap is only like $20 new, at a local autoparts store... this maybe your problem i'm not saying it is but its a try... good luck..

Well that`s what I just wanted a verification on.

Yeah. Slave cylinders aren`t too expensive if you go to a place like Advanced Auto/Autozone. Try and replace it, rebleed the system, and see what happens.
