many problems all at once!
ok just today i found that my car has burned through about 2 1/2 quarts of oil in 5 days. i am confused though it doesn't have any oil leak, and it is not smoking out the exhaust, and it is running stronger then ever! the other thing i noticed is that the oil dipstick smells like fuel. is it time to look for a new engine? oh ya it has 126,500 miles on it. i found this out today along with a torn CV boot, and a torn ball joint, both on the driver side! anyway what i need to know is what is going on with my motor? and why does it seem like you replace one thing and another goes out, or more then one thing goes out at once!!!
Dude if you smell gas in your oil you got some serious issues... Check your compression and I would take the head off to get a better look @ things... Course that would be quite a hassle...
hope you figure it out...

i just got done doing head work on this car about three weeks ago. it has a new head gaskett, and everything went well. i will be cheking the compression today. thanks for the replies, keep them coming, gloria

hey guys i did the head work, and i made sure all my seals were fine, including the oil piston rings. it just started to get stronger, but it always had a light smell of fuel on the dipstick. but i will keep you guys posted on what i find out, and thank you for all the replies!!! gloria
Fuel smell sounds to me like leaking injectors. Even with blowby from seals or rings, it would be burnt fuel, not raw. Raw fuel is either running really rich or injectors leaking. That could also rinse the oil film off the cylinder walls and make it burn oil easier because of the gas diluting it.
With the injectors removed and attached to the fuel rail, pressurize the system and see if gas drips from the injectors. Having them cleaned and rebuilt is the best thing to do. RC along with other places do them for $35-50 each.

We are watching the oil level for the next few days.. Car runs strong and the smell on the dip stick is very minimal...As far as seals "I really don't think so!" But we are gonna do the leakdown and compression test to be sure.
but i think mohudsolo is right, i am definatly running too rich, my plugs are so black and cruded up with black crud! but thanks guys for the replies, and rest assured the car is going to the dyno to fine tune it this week, so according to my tunner, this should take care of the problem. also i posted a thread a while back on misfire codes that i had, and i found out that i just didn't clear the ECU completely to rid the memory of the codes to begin with. so the codes are all gone now. thanks for everything guys!!! gloria
