manual transmission question
i recently opened up my tranny to fix the input shaft bearing and put everything back together. its running but it seems like every gear is a direct 1:1 ratio in transfering torque. i know on automatic the torque converter plays the role of transferring torque but on a manual transmission the gears do. and after doing the repair it seems every gear the rpm's and speedo are always matched. any input from guys who have cracked open a honda b series? also the gears are loud as hell now. im thinking time for a new tranny
thats exactly what im saying u know how 4th gear in an automatic is direct drive. thats what every gear in my car feels like. like the gears arent properly transfering torque or something. the tranny feels like **** now.
Did you put everything with the shifter box and forks back together correctly? When a tranny is going bad it doesnt do anything like what your talking about..
yeah i put it all together correctly. everything is working fine and it shifts effortlessly into all gears nicely. i mean the car is supercharged so its pretty quick. but it honestly feels like the tranny is holding it back almost like brakes dragging.

I wonder if your locked into 2 gears at once or something like that.. Try putting it into neutral and let off the clutch, does the car move?

should it move forward or backward? it doest move forward. but it does move backward only on a slight incline

So the car tries to go backwards when your sitting still in neutral with the clutch out? Or are you saying it drifts backwards.. You should be able to push the car forward and backward with the engine running and clutch out in neutral..

Sure thing.. If you let off the clutch and it tries to move with any type of force while in neutral with the clutch out then you have a problem..
