Default manual trans to auto block, is it basicly a bolt on job?

Okay, I own a 94ls with a manual trans and just bought a 94 ls automatic motor cuzz it has lower miles than my existing motor and my rings are gone so I have to rebuild.
Is it as easy as it seems, pull my motor out and take my trans and just bolt it on the new block? When thats done just put the motor back in? Or do I have to do some more work to get it runnin right?

Thanks,
Roy

Thanks, thats what I thought . As long as they are or have the same block # it's all interchangable. How bout the camshafts specs is there a difference between the 2motors?

Make sure you use the longer bolts to attach your flywheel to the crankshaft. Crankshafts are the same but the flexplate (for auto) is thinner than a flywheel.

just remember when ur taking off the flex plate that u lift up the entire longblock w/ tranny on it like on a cherry picker, then unbolt the very bottom bolts that you cant reach when the engine is on the ground. AFter that take off the black lower tranny cover that covers up the flex plate. After that, just continue to unbolt all the 10mm bolts that hold the flex plate onto the torque converter. If you dont do that, the auto tranny aint commin off.
good luck

The auto tranny is already off the block and is waiting for my tranny as soon as I drop my car off.
