ok...so im driving down the expressway....all the sudden my car just shuts off.....for no apparent reason.I turn the key again and it starts right back up and runs fine...It also did it this morning when i started it.....What do you guys think is up?One thing i am concerned about is my fuel filter cuz im not sure of the last time it was changed.....im pretty sure that might have something to do with it cuz it hasnt been running right lately and thats the only thing i could think of...is that an important piece in a car?lemme know whats up...thanks.RYan.

If it just stops running I would think its something electrical. It could be anything from a bad ground to the fuel pump, or fule pump relays, ignition, ignition switch, bad connections or a list off things.

I don't think its your filter simply because a clogged filter will ussually have the car become sluggish, "stutter", or be hard to start. It won't hurt to change it though.

When my car did that it was the coil/dist cap.

 

I would tend to agree with the rest on ignition system. How many miles roughly are on the dist you are running now because I have heard from honda dealers that the ignitor usally goes bad around 100k also check the coil BTW are you throwing any codes after the car dies. If you are unsure check after the problem occurs.
