Ok so i'm rebuilding my first motor (b17a1) and on the NO. 2 main cap the bearing has a scratch that goes almost the full length of the bearing (long way not width). I can feel it BARELY with my finger nail. I just checked the crankshaft and it looks fine.
Should I replace it even though its within spec? (first time engine builder here guys please keep flame to a low)
Thanks,
Shane

the bearing or the actual main cap itself?
if its the bearing then simply replace it with the same one........if its the main cap then you should take it to a machine shop and get a professional opinion on it.
