Magnetic Drain Plug for Transmission
Just wondering if such a thing exists. Im having problems with shifting from 1st to 2nd at higher rpms. Basically it will not go into gear just grinds I suspect it is my synchros but a friend of mine said that he had the same problem in his supra and it was because of metal shavings in the transmission. If so I would think a magnetic drain plug over time would help the problem but ive never seen one in production any reason for this? Btw I just installed a brand new clutch and flywheel so thats not the problem. Easy
i bought one from pep boys.... the magnet works really well. sticks to the fridge.. but havent seen any shavings stick to the tip of the magnet from the oil

Acura has a magnet in the transfer case already it is inside the tranny this collects shavings of metal.
I have seen a production one. It was on my bro inlaws 93 accord auto tranny, it was like a sliver greese w. really tiny meatal shards in it. Very hard to see.

the tranny has some good size magnets already inside it.
I have yet to figure out what the spoon one does, it sticks to the magnet inside the tranny anyway.

I think it was a pep boys, but might have been autozone. On west street in annapolis. Any good parts place should have them though, if you don't see it, ask. FWIW, the thread pitch on my tranny is same as my oil pan, so technically I'm using an oil pan magnetic drain plug
wasn't having any problems, but I just think they seem like a good idea. keep all that **** from floating around in there.
