i have a lug nut that uses a key and stripped the inside of the nut and now the key spins freely, i need to kno a good way to remove it so i can change my wheels

 

is the lug nut recessed...like in a hole? can you get us a pic? there is a few ways to do it

 

can you fit a turbo socket over the lug nut?

Take it to a local tire garage. I'm sure they have a lock removal tool of some sort. Bet they would only charge you a couple of bucks to do it.

 

if the lugnut just spins on the stud, you'll probably have to drill it...i cant think of any other way to do it without ruining the wheel.

 

depending how much its sticking out...id say use a vise grip

 

i had the same problem a while back i couldnt get it off for the life of me and i had got a flat tire, so i did what i had to do and just pried up and down and broke off the the lugnut and the stud and just replaced it. Its a cheap fix and only took about 15 -20 minutes
