Which LSD tranny is Better?
A YS1 Cable LSD or JDM GSR LSD Hydro? I can get either, but the gsr is more $$$.
this is for an EG.. .so i know that the YS1 would need a hydro brac..
this is the difference in ratios:
gsr: (SiR-G in Japan)
*3.230*
2.105
1.458
1.107
*0.787*
FD 4.40
YS1
*3.307*
2.105
1.458
1.107
*0.880*
FD- 4.40
so what do the differences between 1st gear and 5th gear mean?

actually I think the YS1 that comes with LSD in japan has the type r ratios not the ones you listed. In terms of LSD, the JDM gsr can have the Viscous type LSD which is different that the standard type R gear-type.

Guessing u have a b16b, the ys1 is better for that engine.
the GSR tranny gear are too long. And the gear u listed for the GSR or SIr-G are wrong.
Now as far as LSD goes, i have no clue.
all i know that the type r LSD is different than the Sir LSD. How different? no idea.
Sorry

Just get a USDM ITR or better yet a 98+ JDM ITR tranny. Or, get a 99-00 si tranny, and put a LSD in it, and might as well put the JDM FD in at the same time.
