LSD and Clutch???
Another question..........i am also wanting to purchase an lsd and stage 3 clutch......I have heard good things about ACT clutches and was planning on buying it.......wat are some opinions on this clutch??? wat about Centerforce???...............ok the lsd i have read about is the OBX lsd and the Phantom Grip.........some people say the phantom grip sucks but i heard that a company now makes upgraded springs for the Phantom grip, which in turn helps keep the wheels locked........OBX has done well on an h23 and the kid seems to like it...........so im just looking around for the best combination, (if it really matters) any opinions are welcome i just like to see what others have to say.........thanks
How much power are you putting down to need a Stage 3 clutch? As far as the LSD goes, everyone bashes OBX because "they" heard the horror stories about the old ones. Of course Phantom Grip LSDs are better, because they cost more, obviously. If you have the money, go for one of the higher end LSDs, or OEM.

be carefull what you say, they are'nt called phantom slip for a reason. if you start making power they will slip
for obx being poor, first batch we're rubbish, hybrid_hatch runs it's for a long time, expected it to fall apart anytime soon, but no. it's holding up.
this is going through several 3rd gears, gearboxes and even trough some high level axles (i believe dss stage 5's)where the splines just bend from the power he was making, he tought the diff finally gave out, it where the axles
he's making 700 if not 800+ whp, that's proof to me, just needs a good install!

ACT clutches are a great investment!!! I have had one for about 6 months now and no problems. Also all of my friends who have been building honda's for years run ACT. If I could make a suggestion though go with the 8.8 lb. flywheel. Don't worry about the loss in torque or crap like that it's all bull. These cars make more power the more you spin them so there is no reason for low end torque anyway. That and I haven't lost off the line on the street yet since i've installed mine. Your not in first gear long enough to worry about anything low end. All your power is high in the RPM range.

Agreed Ive read that a lot of people run the 7.5 lb flywheel but the truth is you need some weight to keep the whole rotation system spinning. I hear that 7.5 is better for a full race setup when you don't really idle the car. Id go with the 8.8-9lb flywheel for a street setup.

ok well im not anywhere near 800 hp haha but just in the 200 range.......im not planning on buying a lightened flywheel because thats just a waste of money (but thanks for the advice)because i already have my stock one and its been resurfaced........maybe just take a little bit off of it..............isnt a stage 3 clutch going to be better than the lower stages, so i might as well invest in one that is going to hold up even though i dont have ground rattling power??? i just think that while its apart i might as well get as good as stuff as i can get....... does anyone know of a price range for stock lsd??? since i dont really have the time to look??? well i guess i will just have to go with a good instinct on an lsd since im goin get the ACT clutch........if there is anything else you want me to know go for it...........thanks for all the help
If your not making the power i wouldn't suggest a stage 3. Its just a whole lot harder to drive and won't make any difference really in performance unless you are making the power to begin with. And go with the oem type r replacement its much safer investment people on here sell them for around 400
well like i said i might as well get a clutch that will hold up to a little more rough riding then buy a lower stage one with the chance of hurting it........even though it would most likely not happen...........just since its apart i might as well get what i can now to save the trouble....but honestly i dont know i could get the stage 3 ACT for $442 how is that for pricing???
i have been reading info on both the phantom grip and obx and im finding bad reviews from both sides so this is making my decision harder.........does anyone know what the best bet is goin to be???? i have no experience with lsd's so i dont know what to compare anything to.........any suggestions
