LS/Vtec or Turbo?
it all depends on what road u want to take really. if u dont mind the work and u have the know how, do the ls vtec but if u dont then just throw the turbo on and your good to go. either way it is a costly build. ls vtec aint cheap and turbo's really arent cheap
if ya go ls/vtec you would have to build it right if ya wnat it to last long
-you know forged pistons rods a little head work
-and for to get it tunned right
turbo would be fun....like the other guy said...what road do ya want to travel
i have best of both worlds
94 integra gsr turbo(soon to be on the road, wait ing on block)
91 civc hatch ls/vtec build to the hill...

we had this problem with infamousrs and he is still wishing that he went turbo and now he alreadywent threw his ls vtec and now he is on crvtec and still wishes that he had turbo. i would go turbo unless u love all motor.

Cliffnotes:
Turbo's need lots of love and care, and anyset is as good/bad as you make it

why not ls/vtec/turbo that's what i'm creating right now. as of this moment i have ls/vtec/nitrous, but when the manifold i'm making gets done it's LS/VTEC/TURBO/NITROUS for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! going for 6lbs and a 30shot at first.

Yep, your right. I personally know infamousrs, because we work together, and he liked his ls/vtec, and he loves his crv/tec, but he is always talking about getting a turbo someday. So Iw ould say go turbo, but if you have the money, I would massage the internals first. I've ridden in ls/vtec integras, and they really aren't too fast.
whoa! did you just say "throw the turbo on and your good to go"? That's NEVER a good way to handle forced induction. Turbo's required lots oftuning and maintenance in order to be reliable, and can come out to be very costly and time consuming. However, with LS/Vtec, you can either do it cheaply and not rev high and not make that much power, or build a bullet proof engine and make a decent amount of power. Either way, no one thing is better then another, you can build an LS/Vtec beast with $8000, or slap one together for $600 and throw a rod after 10 miles, just like you can build a 20psi boosted monster, or do throw on a turbo, call it a day, and have a big frickin hole in your piston after leaning out on the highway.

I agree with you fully. Usually this means having Hondata on board or some other tuning software which usually runs $300-500 plus paying a tuner to tune your car. Then you have to factor in bigger fuel injectors and all the supporting modifications to facilitate the turbocharger and also keep in mind the stok bottom end can only go so far before it goes kaboom. RELIABILITY is key with a turbo. Don't get me wrong, its really fun having a turbo car, but if you are fixing leaks and stupid problems more than you are enjoying the car its not worth it IMO.
Going LS/Vtec is the cheaper option and if you have a healthy bottom end you can make pretty decent power (noticeable gain over the stock engine) and still maintain your factory like reliability. Id recommend you have the head gone through by a machine shop to ensure all the internals are good to go and have it milled before putting it on. A lot of people get away with running a factory DOHC Vtec ecu with no issues, but I would also recommend you get a new oil pump, water pump etc and get it tuned if you can afford the S300.
