Default LS/VTEC Set-ups (please help)

I have a 94 Teg, and I am doing LS/VTEC swap in about a week.
So far I have the following parts :

-91 B16A1 Head
-94 B18B Block
- LS Timing Belt, Water pump, head gasket
-95 GSR p72-a01 ECU

I have a couple of questions?

What distributor do I use, the B16 one that came with the head, or some friend told me I can just cut the bottem of my B18B dis. and use that one?

Also I have yet to decide if I will be boosting it or keeping it N/A I have to decide in the next couple days any advice? If I stay N/A I will be dropping in some Pr3 B16a pistons. Cause I heard if u stay n/a with the LS pistons they are crap.

Last question, I have been reading these boards getting tones of info on ls/vtec and everyone is saying do it right the first time dont just slap the vtec head on, well what do u guys mean by bullet proofing the block, what steps shoudl I do before I slap the head on?

Would u boost it or go n/a?

Thanks for all your advice and help I appreciate any.

One thing you should do to strenghten the block is put on a GSR, Type R, or Z10 girdle. makes a big difference when you rev the engine higher than the Ls block was inteded to.
