add on to that shotpeening the rods, arp rod bolts,if everything is apart might as well get everything balanced. most importantly make sure all the clearances are good.. have fun good luck

There is no general figure for an LS/VTEC regarding any kind of racing being that there is consistently reliable "stock" engine to go by. To some, building an LS/VTEC just means throwing a VTEC head on an LS block, and to others it means tearing everything apart and building an engine that will last.

Well put. Personally, I would go ahead and get forged internals due to the increased level of heat dissipation. Don't even think about building an LS/VTEC without balancing the crank. Yes people do it all the time, but look how long they last as compared to a fully balanced engine.

omniman is also the guy who just recently built a 200 whp b16a street motor using USED OEM parts and minor bolt on's and its more reliable than my motor

i would hate to see you blow this motors brains out .... do it right!

I forgot to add to the list yes we are using
GSR oil pump
i may use arp rod bolts BUTT i only tend to red line at 8000rpm
ever thing is going toget balance with 8.8act flywheel

we are almost going to mill the head down 10ths about

i wanted to know if we should use a block guard??
