With the LS crank you have to run the LS rod, VTEC rods are too long. You can use the LS rod with a GSR/Type-R/CTR piston, you just have to machine the small end of the rod to accept the pistons. The rod is too fat to fit without machining. I ran LS rods in my LS/VTEC with CTR pistons and this setup worked fine. I would recommend upgrading to ARP rod bolts.

Let the machine shop do it. It is not that expensive, and you don't want to cut corners on something as important as engine internals.

how did you like the CTR pistons in your LSV? What other mods did you have and what kinda numbers were you getting in the 1/4th and dyno? Just curious cuz I'm buidling my block right now w/ some CTRs too.

Thanks

175 whp at Import Builders on ITR pistons. Never dynoed with the CTR's. No 1/4 mile times either. I just built the motor to run when my GSR block was out; it's my daily driver, so it can't be down.
