Default ls vtec question

im currently getting a ls vtec swap from a friend i know how it runs but he had the gsr cams put it which to you think is better to run with gsr cams or b16 i heard b16 cams are alot better also im going to get the head ported n polished in nov.

but my main question is which is better running on a b16 head gsr cams or b16 cams?

gsr cams are a bit more aggressive but nothing substantial.

or go with some itr's. they are really good on ls-vtec setups.

you prolly have to use 93 depending on your compressio ratio

well my friend ran LS with itr piston and itr cams. he still ran 91.

Cams shouldnt affect what kind of gas you pump but compression ratio will. Youre going to see much more of a gain if you bump up the compression ratio along with getting more aggressive cams.

oh cams do have ann effect on compression and octane requirements..

but if anything with all things equal a bigger cam on same motor will require less octane

he also tuned it like that too. no problem. after that he had skunk2 stage 2 with no problems. my motor i'm running is ls-vtec with b16 head. i also ran the itr cams i bought from him and no problem here with 91.
