ls/vtec issue
I just built an ls/vtec and swapped it into my 96 integra. Everything works perfect except 2 things. The first is when the car is idling just sitting there it warms up to a little more than a quarter of the way on the temp gauge on the dash, as soon as i start driving it drops almost to the "C" marks on the gauge, same thing happens when I get on the gas. Then i'll let it sit at idle right after and the gauge moves back up again. What is this from or is it normal. The second problem is when i rev the car out say from 3k in 3rd gear for example the check engine light will come on anywhere from 6 or 7 rpms then i just turn the key off then on again and the light is gone. I do have a ls trans on my swap so the gears are real long but i don't understand what causes this. someone help me out
I tried a new thermostat already i even changed the thermostat housing because of my cooling fan not kicking on. I don't understand how the thermostat would let it warm up and then drop at the temp gauge as soon as i start driving. I have a gsr water pump on the block. Now for the other issue would having an ls distributor or ls trans cause this long revving error code problem.
I threw a 21 and 23 code but heres the thing i'm popping vtec even after the check engine light is on. and for the knock sensor we have it drill and tapped into the block where the upper alternator bracket inner bolt is i just don't get it

there is know more 21 code. It is now just throwing 23 knock sensor. It only throws the check engine light in higher rpms at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears only. the knock sensor on this motor is drilled and tapped on the upper alternator bracket where the bolt near the #4 cylinder was, wire straight in to the ecu. Also why does this code pop intermittently in the upper gears, 3rd gear and up at high rpms. then turn the ignition off and then back and the light is off but 23 will be in the ecu
