Default ls vtec idel trouble

so i have a crx with a ls vetc in it, i can drive to work under 60mph and the idle is fine, but when i get on the highway or im messing around it jumps from 1000-2000 rpm until i shut it off and then its fine, please help

try checking the IACV valve and cleaning it with carb cleaner. or check for vacuum leaks

Iacv valve gets full of dirt and carbon take it out and clean and hopfully thats the problem

make sure no air in cooling system and fitv is screwed in if cleaning iacv doesnt work

ok so i cleaned my iacv and after do that my car would not idel for nothin, enery time i pushed in the clutch it would die, and for some reason the check engine light came on, and also when it is driving if i have the gas barely on it acts like it want to die to, please help!

i thought you could just hook a code reader up to but nope lol, then i figured out there is "supposed" to be a red led on my ECU but theres not, so how to i check it from this point. sorry for these stupid questions just new to hondas

it has a thermal zero ECU in it

no obd2 it has a p28, or does it matter?
