Default LS Pistons on GSR Rods?

I know that you have to shave LS rods to put type R/GSR pistons on, but do you have to do anything to put LS pistons on the GSR rods? TIA.

my friend just bought a coupe with a GSR, and the pistons are junk. He wants to get it running asap because its his only car, and LS pistons are all he has on hand.
