Default LS oil pump question (VTEC engine)

Ordered a Oil pump for a 95 gsr. Part number 15100-pr3-024. A LS oil pump arrived. Part number 15100-pr4-ao3. Called the dealer, "what the expletive!!" So he calls American Honda. He calls back and says that the pump for the gsr is now superceded by LS pump. How can this be? You guys think its safe to use the LS pump?

according to service manual:
b18b1 oil pump displacement: 53 US qt./minute at 6,000 rpm
b18c1,b18c5 oil pump displacement: 75 US qt./minute at 7,600 rpm
