Default LS/ITR main caps for the crank

Are these the same caps?? I was just wondering because I have my GS-R crank girdle and noticed it has 2 dowel pins but dont remember my LS main caps having any place for the dowel pins. Do I just go without the dowel pins, get ITR main caps or am I just forgetful and the LS has a spot for the Dowels?
TIA

LS bottom end and GSR/ITR are different. Don't switch the main caps between motors unless you plan to have it line bored.

You will be best off if you just machine the three middle LS main caps and drill the dowel pins so the ITR/GSR girdle will go on. Most competent engine machine shops should be able to do it. After you put the girdle on the LS caps make sure you get it line honed. If you switch the caps you will have to get it line bored, which is a pain in the *** and not the best idea.

Once you put the GSR/ITR girdle on you will have to use the GSR main bolts, GSR oil pump pickup, GSR tray, and GSR oil pan.

Ok I think I've got the hang of this. Still have a few questions. The #3 cap have it made even with the 2 and 4 caps right and have it groved to accept the grove in the girdle. Right. The #2 and 4 dont need to brought down much just even, correct. Now about the dowels/bushings where would I find these gems honda/acura, right based on a GS-R/ITR. Do I go about the same depth in the caps and the girdle so its in there firmly. Now the reamer where are these available from or have the machine shop handle this while its there.
Thanks for all the info

Yes, the #3 must be made shorter and 2and4 madelevel with #3.
you MIGHT be able to get the dowels from honda/acura.
As far as any reaming or drilling, leave that to the machine shop.

Yeah found out can get 13mm dowels from Acura. I remember on that post that it says something about being small and larger dowels and this process uses the larger ones there 13mm*20 and there about 2.00 each. Cann't smote it with a stick. Next job is to see how much a macine shop charges for the work. Already have the rest of the GS-R/ITR parts at the house just inquiring about the girdle right now.
