Default LS crank in a B18C

What's the purpose of this setup? are there any benefits to this? i would think that a GSR crank would be more stable at high rpm's due to the counter weights. . .maybe this setup is cheaper?

Longer stroke. Balancing it the same on either.

most use it to gain a few more cc's of displacement, which then adds some more TQ/HP. IMO it's not really worth the hassle unless maybe the motor is torn down already. depending what rods/pistons are used it's important to make sure there is ample clearance between the valves and pistons.

nice thanks for the info, but will the LS crank have reliability issues? or is it just as good? as the GSR one?

yes this was talked about in some other threads as J2turbo21 said.

the LS crank is basically the same as the GSR crank, cept for the longer stroke.
87.2 compared to 89.0 on the LS.
