Default ls build up.need help)

i just got my ls botton end done with je pistons, eagle rods, type r oil pump etc.but im worry that i tried to turn over the crankshaft with a rachet to see how the pistons were going up and down and is really hard to turn, once you turn it over then keep going a bit easier until you stop.then is a pain in the butt going all over again.ps:NO HEAD ON THE BLOCK YET,NOTHING THAT SEEMS TO STOP ME TURN IT OVER EASY

If anything I would think that if it did turn, it would barely turn. You want it to be tight, that's new for you.

Lube the cylinder walls up then.

I thought of this again, you must have a hell of a rachet. Sounds OK to me, I could be wrong.

But like I said you're lucky to move it.

your assembled short-block should not be hard to turn over, something is wrong. how are your bearing clearences on the rods and mains. make sure you didn't install the rod caps on backwards or on the wrong rod. tight does not mean new and lubing the cyl. wall doesn't really make a difference on how the engine will turn over . double check your assembly

How are your bearing clearances ? The motor should turn freely, even after you stop and start turning again. Plastiguage the main bearing clearances. I don't recommend putting the motor together until you find out why it is binding. If you put on a block girdle, that could be your problem. Block girdles tend to **** the main bearing caps ever so slightly, but enough to cause a problem.
