Default Ls block prep questions ls-v

So i completely forgot i bought a ls block i fully disassembled it and stored everything now my question

what looked like a valve slap onto the piston on cylinder 1 at the top if i rub my finger on it i dont feel a difference i can put a indicator on there to see if there is a difference but, my question is something like this can i hone it out with a drill gun and hone at regular size or will have to resleeve? I know pictures would help but wont be at storage for 2 more weeks

As for plans just 12:1 ls vtec built head nothing crazy

punctuation would help a lot here.
it sounds like you're saying there's a ridge at the top of the cylinder, and you want to try honing it smooth?
NO. you will be putting new pistons in, so you'll need to buy oversize pistons and have the block bored/honed to match the new pistons BY A MACHINE SHOP. then everything will be good

yeah, never put new pistons in used cylinders. the cylinders must always be fresh, especially for a build, and that requires boring, which requires oversize pistons, and having the cyls machined to match the pistons with proper clearances.

get the pistons first, then bore/hone for exact tolerances according to exact piston dimensions. do NOT just bore the cyls, and get pistons after, as you will end up just needing another block or even larger pistons.
